iBAHN, a global leader in IP-based entertainment and information services for the hospitality and meeting industries, announced the latest release of its integrated IPTV platform, ETVi version 20.5, which features a mobile application that transforms smartphones and tablets into personal, interactive extensions of the hotel brand.

The application enables users to control their personal access to television and mobile content from the devices they rely on most: their personal smartphones or tablets. iBAHN will be demonstrating the application and more at HITEC booth 2222, June 25-28 in Baltimore.

The new mobile app, which is available for free download in the iTunes® Store and Android™ Market, enhances the multiscreen experience and allows guests to use their smartphones and tablets to view content. With iBAHN's new mobile application, guests can skip handling the hotel remote control and instead use their own device to replace the functionality of the remote: select channels, control volume, pause, fast forward, rewind, play movies and access the Interactive Electronic Program Guide. Additionally, guests can use their devices to select the content of their choice, whether television, video on demand or web streams.

As the only truly global integrator that delivers multiscreen content to hotel guests, iBAHN brings together the high definition viewing experience with a full range of information services, customization opportunities and point-of-sale features, delivered to the TV - and now to guest devices.  With the option of customizing the application, hotel brands can deliver a consistent guest experience in any of their properties across the globe. Once a guest has downloaded the mobile app, hotels can push targeted content to guest devices, such as happy hour or spa promotions, hotel information and more. The result is a hotel-branded, interactive guest experience and instant up sell opportunities for hotels.

For guests, the adoption rate will be high, as they are already familiar with operating their own devices. By simply accessing the application, guests can quickly find the entertainment and hotel services content they seek, without having to learn to navigate a new system or locate the printed channel guide in the room. Through the application, guests can view available TV and movie offerings from anywhere within the hotel’s WiFi network (even the 19th hole), purchase movies to view on their in-room TV and stream hotel information and local attractions.

“With ETVi 20.5 we’re empowering hoteliers to deliver the most cutting-edge, individualized and seamless multiscreen experience for the guest,” said Roger Crellin, iBAHN president of the Americas. “The new mobile app builds upon the richness of the already industry-leading integrated iBAHN network and ETVi platform.”

iBAHN will be exhibiting at HITEC 2012, the world’s largest hospitality show, June 25-28 at booth 2222 in the Baltimore Convention Center.  Visit the iBAHN booth for a demonstration of ETVi version 20.5 and to learn more about iBAHN’s portfolio of services.
