The legendary El Cortez Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, has signed with Genares™ for GDS and IDS distribution services.  The deal with Genares is part of a series of changes and improvements planned for the El Cortez as Las Vegas is revitalizing the downtown area known as Fremont East.

“As we look for ways to improve the overall guest experience here at El Cortez, it just made sense to use what Genares has to offer,” said Mike Nolan, general manager.  “We want our operations to be smoother and more advanced than it’s ever been before, and that’s what Genares offers us.”

The El Cortez has been at the corner of 6th Street and Fremont since it opened as Las Vegas’ first major casino resort back in 1941.  Additions and renovations to the hotel throughout the years allowed the hotel to grow from 59 rooms to 364 rooms today.  The property is one of the very few hotels in Las Vegas that has not changed its exterior and plans to retain its vintage signage and ranch-style facade that it had when it first opened.

The El Cortez is now part of the Fremont East experience that Las Vegas is undertaking to revitalize downtown.  It will be similar to the current Fremont Experience just west of the El Cortez.  The hotel is renovation rooms, upgrading the casino floor and plans other improvements.  With the addition of Genares’ distribution platform the property will also be able to offer better inventory management and room reservation abilities to guests.
