Bartech, a world leader in profit-generating automatic minibar solutions for the hospitality industry, has completed installation of its advanced automatic minibars at more than 4,200 guestrooms and suites at the iconic MGM Grand Las Vegas.

The recent installation was part of an exclusive agreement between Bartech and MGM Resorts International that has seen the installation of Bartech minibars in more than 23,000 hotel guestrooms across the MGM Resorts portfolio.

MGM Grand has implemented Bartech’s C-32 Automatic Minibars, customized to include a fully-attached cabinet door to the minibar door so that when the cabinet door is opened, minibar contents are easily accessible. The minibar door was further customized for the Las Vegas Strip resort to have larger door shelves than standard units—an accommodation made at MGM Grand’s request that other minibar manufacturers would be unwilling or unable to make. Like all Bartech automatic minibars, the C-32 is equipped with state-of-the-art detection capabilities, and the Microsoft Windows-based system features a host of energy-saving options.

Bartech boasts more automatic minibars in use than any other manufacturer throughout Las Vegas’ upscale and luxury hotel segments. Nevertheless, the MGM Grand installation is Bartech’s second largest single-property implementation in history, trailing only the sister hotel across the Strip, ARIA Resort & Casino. In addition to MGM Grand and ARIA, Bartech minibars are installed at several other MGM Resorts International properties in Las Vegas, including Bellagio, The Mirage, Mandalay Bay and Vdara.

“Bartech and MGM Resorts International have a long and a very mutually-beneficial partnership, one that both sides are excited to advance with this latest major installation at the storied MGM Grand,” said Bartech CEO Mario Agrario. “We have a proven track record of providing profit-generating automatic minibar products to MGM Resorts International—along with many other major names in the Las Vegas hospitality market. Bartech’s profit-generating product solutions are unmatched for their virtually infinite customization options and the modern, sleek design of the products.”

The only automatic minibar provider to offer fully customizable design, Bartech offers a choice of five methods of server communication for its automatic minibars. MGM Grand has selected the ZigBee network for its communication standard, and Bartech invites hotels to also choose from WiFi, coax cable, twisted pair and Ethernet communication. Bartech is also the only minibar provider to offer three types of sensor technologies—infrared, magnetic and micro-switch.
