HSMAI and Sabre Hospitality Solutions Team Up for White Paper Addressing Convergence in the Hospitality Industry

The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and Sabre Hospitality Solutions today announced the debut of a white paper entitled, “Converging on Success: Best Practices for Managing Convergence in Hospitality, Sales, Marketing and Revenue Optimization.”

The white paper addresses the ways systems, practices and individuals must collaborate for optimum results in a constantly changing landscape.

“Convergence is a powerful tool that is impacting the design of hospitality sales and marketing, which is being driven by a shift in consumer behavior as travelers have a desire for increased engagement and control,” said HSMAI President & CEO, Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHBA. “Yesterday’s traditional convergence consisted of sales, marketing and revenue management. Today’s has expanded to touch upon these three key areas as well as social media, technology platforms, mobile channels and more, all of which insist hoteliers take a holistic methodology to incorporate the new demands and needs of customers.”  

To aid those in the industry as they navigate the evolving landscape, the white paper includes best practices by which hoteliers can abide:

  • Deep customer engagement requires the right technology framework
  • With the customer now at the center, content and relevancy are paramount
  • The mobile mindset needs to go beyond that of a device or provider of content
  • One of the most powerful ways to create meaningful experiences with target customers comes from the convergence of social, local and mobile (SoLoMo)
