Squirrel Systems, a leading restaurant management supplier for the hospitality industry has completed integration and pilot testing with Valutec Card Systems' gift card offering.

One of the Pacific Northwest’s most prestigious restaurant groups, The Purple Café, worked closely with Pacific Restaurant Systems (PRS), Squirrel and Valutec to pilot the new offering.

“Purple Café had selected Valutec as its preferred gift card vendor and Squirrel worked closely with our team to deliver the solution,”  said Scott Fallon, president of Pacific Restaurant Systems. “Our customers are very happy with the integrated gift card solution and we believe Valutec will be a good solution for our market segment.”

The gift card sales in the full-service restaurant space represent an average of 4.5 percent to 6 percent of annual sales and are expected to continue to grow in popularity according to the National Restaurant Association 2007 Forecast report.

“Gift cards are a critical component of a restaurant’s operation and it is important that we follow the lead of our savvy customers and reseller partners,” said Linda Gillis, director of marketing for Squirrel Systems. “ We have one of the most extensive payment solutions offerings in the industry and this is just another example of our commitment to continue to work with leading solution providers.”

Squirrel Systems will profile The Purple Café on its Web site in mid-May.
