Capton announced that Drago’s Seafood Restaurant at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel has chosen Capton’s RFID-based Beverage Tracker solution to help monitor bar operations.

The newly renovated Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel has undergone a $40 million renovation which includes the addition of a local favorite, Drago's Seafood Restaurant.

In readying the restaurant for its official grand opening, Hilton management approached their partners at Drago’s to consider Capton’s RFID-based drink monitoring solution; Beverage Tracker. The Beverage Tracker system utilizes RFID-enabled liquor pour spouts to provide a clear picture of exactly how each drink is prepared, how the guest is served and how the transaction is handled in the point-of-sale (POS) system. Anytime there is a variance from what is expected, the system can spotlight the event to management for follow up action.

“Capton offers a breakthrough new approach to the liquor shrinkage problem hospitality has been wrestling with for years,” said Capton’s CEO, Scott Martiny. “Although a lot of gadgets have been introduced over time, none have proven to be invisible to customers, imposed no operational change on the bar team, and delivered information that was accurate enough and simple enough to allow management to take corrective actions. Beverage Tracker is the ultimate secret shopper. We have a secret shopper on every drink served by bar staff. We know if it wasn’t poured correctly (amount or brand) and if it ever made it into the POS system as a revenue event.”

“One of the important aspects of this project,” added Capton’s VP direct sales, Carl Crockett, “is that the marriage of a great hotel operation like Hilton New Orleans Riverside and a great restaurant operation like Drago’s can happen with the inclusion of cutting-edge technology such as Capton. We are a proud part of this wonderful team effort and we look forward to extending our relationship with Drago’s and with the Hilton family of hotels.”
