HX: The Hotel Experience Expands Technology Offerings for 2015 Show

Bringing more technology choices and strategies to the hospitality industry will be a major focus of HX: The Hotel Experience — Rooms to Restaurants on Nov. 8-10, 2015, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

One of the most visible tech improvements will be the addition of HX: TECH, a 1,100 square foot tantalizing hub for experiencing new products and hearing new ideas. Team HX: TECH will lead hands-on training, demo new products and enlighten on such topics as evaluating web presence, going paperless, social media for events, mobile apps, revenue management, meeting design, productivity and more.

“A single place for hospitality technology with real depth and breadth hasn’t existed before HX:TECH,”  said Anthony Mangano, president of Syramada Hotel Corporation and chairman of the board for HX 2015. “It’s more than a new product showcase, it’s a fully-staffed resource.”

HX: TECH will feature a TECHbar where attendees can bring their own device (BYOD), ask their tech and app questions and quickly receive answers and new solutions. Attendees can also experience the latest in tech wearables such as VR goggles, MYO and gestured-based tech, smartwatches and virtual keyboards.

“We’ve invested so that attendees can get real-time solutions from tech experts that understand hospitality as well as have their fingers on the pulse of practical technology solutions and future tech trends,” said Mangano.

Mangano also confirmed that technology companies are the fastest growing segment of new exhibitors at this largest hospitality tradeshow in North America.

Technology leadership is reflected in HX 2015’s conference program as well. Topics to be presented include:

  • The imperative of creative culture in fostering technology innovation – a substantive examination of how the hospitality industry’s traditional structures often hamper the very technological innovations and ideation they’re seeking. Presented by Georgetown University – Master’s of Hospitality Management Program and Marco Bienvenuti, co-founder and chief analytics and product Officer, Duetto.
  • Staying ahead of the disruptors in an evolving digital landscape – a provocative look at the new normal of shared economy concepts such as AirBnB and Uber. Presented by Dr. Erich Joachimsthaler, CEO & founder, Vivaldi Partners Group.
  • Exploring hospitality’s most intriguing macro trends with Dahlia El Gazzar, CEO and Founder of The Meeting Pool.
  • Tech Trend Report for a broader look at global tech innovations. Presented by team HX: TECH.

Even the practical considerations of recharging devices and refreshing data have been integrated in a unique way at HX 2015. Attendees have comfortable charging stations, live support for the event’s mobile app and a chance to attend mini tech-ed sessions throughout their stay.

All HX tech offerings are included in the one-time HX registration fee of $30 through Oct. 12, 2015, and $50 thereafter.
