RLHC Announces Revolutionary Wi-Fi Customer Affinity Program

Through RLHC's Hello Rewards guest loyalty program, members have complimentary access to upgraded Wi-Fi with increased bandwidth options, an amenity that is becoming the new standard among the connected consumer travel market.

Developed based on insight that today’s traveler values great experiences over great savings, the Hello Rewards loyalty program was founded on recognition rather than points. RLHC enlisted the help of EthoStream, a division of Telkonet Inc. and one of the nation’s largest hospitality high-speed Internet access (HSIA) network providers to create an upgraded Wi-Fi option that aligns with hotel group’s brand standards.

“Wi-Fi is no longer a luxury, but a necessity in today’s hyper-connected consumer market,” says John Edwards, CIO of RLHC. “The Hello Rewards loyalty program was created to provide modern-day conveniences our travelers want while maintaining the unwavering level of service they have come to expect from RLHC. The enhanced Wi-Fi offered in our new tiered program aligns with that concept while offering complimentary increased bandwidth for our Hello Rewards members.”

The updated Wi-Fi system works by allowing guests to use their Hello Rewards credentials to log in during their first time they stay at any RLHC property. Following the initial entry and on all subsequent visits to RLHC hotels, the system will remember that guest, automatically upgrade their bandwidth level, and in the future will greet the customer with an e-mail acknowledgement welcoming them to the property. This e-mail will allow hotels to communicate special messages to guests or advertise hotel amenities such as onsite food and beverage outlets or specials.

The revolutionary Wi-Fi customer affinity program will be rolled out to Hotel RL, Red Lion Hotel and Red Lion Inn & Suites properties across the country beginning in 2016.
