VingCard Elsafe, a global leader in hospitality security and part of the ASSA ABLOY Group, has participated, with other ASSA ABLOY group companies, in providing an integrated solution for event staff to use their Xperia T NFC-enabled handsets to access their hotel rooms during this year's Mobile World Congress, taking place February 25-28 in Barcelona.

With the Seos™ application provided by ASSA ABLOY, a global leader in door opening solutions, the trial participants, roaming from their home O2 UK operator, will check in at Hotel Porta Fira Santos, using their Sony handsets. They will receive their digital room keys straight to their handsets, sent over the air and held securely in the Seos™ applet stored in their G&D NFC SIM in the Xperia T.
Then trial participants simply touch their handset to the NFC-compatible Signature RFID by VingCard electronic door lock reader to access their hotel room. ASSA ABLOY has developed the Seos™ ecosystem to make this possible. The Seos™ ecosystem consists of interoperable electromechanical locks and readers, mobile phone applications, a secure digital key delivery mechanism and a trusted service manager. These integrated elements support issuing, delivering and revoking digital keys on NFC-enabled mobile devices that are used to open doors to homes, hotels, offices, universities, hospitals and commercial buildings. Hotel Porta Fira Santos is considered one of the most high technology hotels in the Barcelona area, and its 320 rooms and suites are all equipped with cutting-edge technology.

In addition, VingCard Elsafe will be showcasing Essence by VingCard, the new invisible electronic door lock, at the Connected City Exhibition in the venue. For more information, please see
