With the ever-increasing demand placed on hoteliers to understand all things from online distribution and marketing, to review sites, revenue management, social and everything in between, SiteMinder knows vendor fatigue and chaos are very real to its customers. This past quarter, SiteMinder proudly revealed that over the 12 months ending in June this year, its technology helped hotels around the world to generate a staggering 57.3 million hotel reservations worth US$18.6 billion in total revenue. For each minute, these figures represent 109 rooms that were booked by travelers from all corners of the globe to instantly contribute US$35,388 to those hotels’ bottom line and help them get back to what they do best.
The figures also follow another quarter of milestones for SiteMinder, including the acquisition of its 26,000th hotel customer in Chile’s RQ Grupo Hotelero, its partnership with MSI Solutions and Best Day Travel Group, and the relaunch of its GDS solution. During the 49th GBTA Convention, the company announced it was bringing GDS representation in house as the number of its GDS-connected hotel customers more than tripled in one year. The hotels are located in the world’s top business travel destinations, including Barcelona, Berlin, London and Paris in Europe; Chicago, Los Angeles and New York in the United States; and Bangkok, Hong Kong, Sydney and Taipei in the Asia Pacific.
