Today, business agility and flexibility in the hospitality industry isn’t just a goal, it’s a requirement for survival. New models for revenue offerings, contactless guest engagement, and streamlined operations must be quickly conceived, tested and ramped up where successful, or discarded when ineffective, across the enterprise. Every guest interaction from previsit to on-site experience to post-visit relationship-building must be simple, frictionless and personalized. While the industry has been moving in this direction for some time, the urgency around these objectives has accelerated dramatically.
For POS operations this means venues must adopt a new nimbleness in creatively mixing previously disparate service models and technologies in ways that offer new modern workflows and leverage the latest in simple, configurable, easy-to-use tools. What might this look like in a food and beverage (F&B) experience? Imagine servers using a single POS system to take orders on popular easy to carry and hold mobile phones, iPads/other tablets, combined with Android, iOS or Windows fixed/convertible terminals at the bar or other high-traffic locations. Now imagine them all relying on a common, configurable solution that optimizes the strengths of each platform and workflow.
The new, modern Agilysys IG 12UX POS client satisfies these demanding requirements by providing operators the flexibility to choose from a wide range of fixed station and mobile devices across these operating systems, all running a common InfoGenesis POS solution. Users can now align POS device selection with the venue's aesthetic and the modern elements of each brand, while coexisting with fixed-station Windows terminals.
The innovative new client also provides a superior user experience on nearly any device with support for gesture control on mobile devices, enhanced POS product search, improved server workflows and increased flexibility in UI layout and management. Current Agilysys customers are using IG 12UX today to realize the benefits of these new features while leveraging their existing investment in Windows terminals.
And of course, many venues are now adding contactless guest self-service alternatives for F&B ordering and payment. Allowing guests to access mobile menus, place remote orders and review/make payments from anywhere on their own devices – phone, tablet, laptop – helps properties keep the revenue flowing while offering increased guest and staff safety, health and comfort.
Agilysys IG OnDemand, IG Smart Menu, and IG Quick Pay is a complete suite of contactless self-service F&B solutions that delivers on these mobile recruitments. With an intuitive guest-facing order and pay experience, it supports pick-up or delivery orders, as well as tableside order and pay experience. At the venue, it supports ordering for multiple guests at a table over the course of a meal using their own devices. This makes the ordering process touchless while freeing up staff to spend more time with guests. The result is dramatically increased revenue opportunities and more chances to enhance guest service.
