2020 Fall

The hospitality industry is incredibly resilient, but we have no doubt certain aspects of travel will look different in the future as a direct result of COVID-19. While we collectively endure the financial, operational and personal challenges of the pandemic, Amadeus has a unique role to play as a technology provider. As the world marches towards recovery and new trends and traveler expectations emerge, we are actively rethinking processes and mapping out future innovations to ensure our offerings meet the needs of a new era of hospitality.

We are always looking at ways to most effectively support our customers. Our teams are reaching out and listening to their pain points to ensure we can deliver solutions to meet their most immediate challenges while supporting future recovery.

Our business intelligence suite plays a vital role in guiding hoteliers' revenue strategies as everyone is wondering when recovery will come and what it will look like. Demand360® provides some of the industry’s most comprehensive, forward-looking market data, so hoteliers can see what types of travelers are booking, what channels they are booking on, and how their performance stacks up against their competitive set’s. With short-term rentals on the rise, hoteliers are additionally subscribing to our alternative accommodations solution, which provides booking data on 27 million home-share listings down to the zip code.

We’ve also seen an increased focus on cleanliness, sanitization and operational procedures to effectively address traveler concerns. Our service optimization solutions serve venues of all sizes to help streamline guest requests, housekeeping, work orders and communication best practices to deliver a positive guest experience – even with a lean staff.

We’ve launched a series of initiatives in 2020 beginning with complimentary, instructor-led training opportunities on multiple products. We also presented global thought leadership webinars highlighting industry performance in different regions and implemented the H24 rate code, which provided free or discounted hotel rooms to medical workers and other emergency personnel during the height of the pandemic response.

Additionally, we introduced new functionality for our Amadeus Hospitality Diagramming, service optimization and business intelligence solutions that will allow hospitality organizations to better respond to changes brought by COVID-19, whether it’s improving meeting and event setup, select service hotel operations, or global occupancy insights.
