The post-COVID-19 world will require hoteliers, or anyone who hosts large groups, to direct their focus on three strategic initiatives.

Traveler confidence – Business and leisure travelers, as well as meeting organizers, will be looking for evidence that a hotel or brand has taken serious and detailed steps to implement new health guidelines, for guests and staff alike. Hoteliers need to continue to update and promote their cleaning guidelines and certifications to demonstrate to potential guests that health is top-of-mind. In addition, many travelers want to know that a property or hotel brand is also providing the utmost care for their employees.

Contactless experience – Technology will play a critical role in achieving a contactless guest experience that mitigates the spread of COVID-19. Mobile apps that facilitate keyless entry, chat options or provide turn-by-turn directions will continue to play a critical role in how hotels interact with guests. Apps will evolve from providing information and limited interactivity to tools that guests can use to open doors, enter pools, gyms and navigate a property without a need to speak to anyone or touch anything except their own mobile device. In-room entertainment and digital signage will also provide ways to communicate and offer guests ways to engage, shop and book property amenity offerings with little to no contact with hotel staff or objects. Lastly, voice recognition, biometric and facial recognition technologies will be installed at a breakneck speed.

Productivity tools and reliable partners – With the many furloughs, job losses and general disruption, hotels need to find ways to be more productive and innovative with fewer resources, both human and financial. Reliable technology partners that can offer technology integration, tools and outsourcing services to help distressed properties bridge their resources gap until travelers and bookings return to pre-COVID-19 levels.

Hospitality Network has been working with clients and partners since the beginning of the pandemic offering flexible solutions and collaboration to assist some of the most iconic brands in the hospitality industry. Hospitality Network has also shared with our partners and clients what we've done internally to protect team members, such as providing PPE mailed directly to employee’s homes and using technology to keep organizational teams engaged and informed.
