Gaylord Palms Installs Kaba Networked Locks; Village Hotels Selects Kaba Mobile Access for 28 Properties
Kaba provides the Saflok™ and ILCO™ brands of electronic locks.
The 1,400+ room Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., raised secure access to a new level when it converted to Kaba Saflok MT RFID electronic door locks. The networked Saflok solution delivers total property security platform, durability and guest convenience. Saflok RFID keys are "extremely reliable," said Bill Goeller, director of engineering. "That makes for a much more satisfactory and consistent at-the-door guest experience. I know the product works."
Another important decision factor for Gaylord Palms was Kaba’s mobile readiness when the property decides to implement mobile access locks.

Kaba announced that it implemented a fully integrated Mobile Key Access solution for Village Hotels. Kaba and Village Hotels expect to complete a full mobile guest experience rollout to all 28 properties in 2016.
Kaba and Intelity established a cooperative development agreement. The relationship enables the companies to combine their industry-leading technologies to make mobile key access more readily available to a wide range of hotels that include brands and independent properties. Kaba also announced a partnership with OpenKey to develop and implement a full-property mobile access system.
Kaba’s BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) mobile access lock solutions may be seamlessly integrated with brand loyalty apps and chain technology infrastructures. Cloud-based Kaba mobile keys enable guests to open their room doors with their own BLE mobile phone or device, including the new Apple Watch®, as a flexible alternative to a classic RFID keycard. Most Kaba RFID locks manufactured today are compatible with BLE, IOS and Android mobile technology.

Mobile Access “How To” White Paper
Kaba released a white paper to help operators evaluate the mobile access opportunity for their properties. The paper, “3 Steps to Implement a Successful, Secure Mobile Access Guest Experience,” is available for download at
Kaba's mobile key solution works with a choice of technologies, including BLE and near-field communications (NFC), so hotel operators can use it – and securely issue and manage access authorizations – in the way that best suits their requirements.

The merger of the businesses of Kaba Group, headquartered in R├╝mlang (Switzerland), and Dorma Group, based in Ennepetal (Germany), was completed on September 1, 2015. Together, dorma+kaba is one of the top three global companies in the market for security and access solutions, with pro forma sales of more than CHF 2 billion, and close to 16,000 employees.[SIX Swiss Exchange: DOKA (formerly: KABN/KABNE); for further information, visit]
