NORTHWIND Delivers Productivity Tools, Rolls Out Condo Enhancements
In response to client requests, NORTHWIND is focusing its efforts on providing Maestro users with new technology tools and training to increase productivity and property profitability. Enhanced Maestro functionality includes dynamic packaging with Web booking capability, automated ticket printing, expanded archiving and standardized screens to streamline hotel operation in addition to free online courses for all users that teach productivity skills.
Maestro Condominium Owner Accounting is now fully integrated with the Maestro PMS. With a host of features added to handle condominium, timeshare and fractional ownership accounting and management, the Maestro Owner Management module provides the operational features to manage the complex needs of developers, owners and guests. Integration with accounting, billing, work order and the entire Maestro PMS suite will provide operators with a powerful tool to efficiently manage their properties and serve their owners.
Maestro Property Management has also been enhanced to fully integrate with the Maestro Retail POS. Data archiving is expanded and new property-client communication features improve marketing and sales. Additionally, full integration between the Maestro Spa and Activity Scheduling module and Maestro Enterprise Front Office utilizes a single-image database for wider access to guest records for better service. Maestro’s single-image database architecture unites all system modules across a property or throughout a hotel chain for seamless access to data.
Dynamic packaging, activities booking, tickets printing and reconciliation has been added to the current package options. Operators may setup packages by rate type to include activities, spa services, sales and catering and for facilities such as squash and tennis courts. Package reservations will vary on the basis of package components with option to book components at reservation time or during the guest’s stay. Reconciliation and extra charges are controlled to assist with guest billing and reporting. Guests may also now book packages on the Web.
Maestro CRM is expanded to give properties greater data mining and reporting capability for more profitable decision making from better access to performance information. Maestro CRM provides integrated views and data mining from front desk, spa, activities, retail POS and sales and catering systems to support effective development and analysis of marketing initiatives.
Maestro users are lining up for NORTHWIND’s Four Diamond Service free online training classes that provide refresher training for property staff and new hires. Among other items, the service includes free online classes and professional operations consulting services for managers needing high-level systems instruction to increase staff efficiency with Maestro technology.
Maestro Sales and Catering has been strengthened with the addition of a new function diary with new capabilities that significantly increase the ease of use. Each day’s function room bookings are now represented graphically, and tools that filter availability based on user requirements are added. The move/change functions are also simplified. The system continues to offer a real time combined view of guestroom and function room availability. The system provides a more detailed client contact record that allows a property manager to add more contact information, including multiple phone and e-mail addresses, multiple titles and an opt-out option for e-mail marketing.
Another significant advancement is the system’s ability to report revenues within sales and catering. Users can now flag any billable component as being either part of a package or a cash sale item. This allows a more detailed accounting of usage without double billing. It also lets the user establish the relative value of a front desk package against actual usage to better manage meeting and incentive packages.
NORTHWIND will be exhibiting at: the Historic Hotels of America 2006 Annual Meeting, Mackinac Island, Mich., Oct. 24-26, 2006; also at booth No. 3038 at the IH/M&RS Show in New York City, N.Y., Nov. 12-14.
