The Food and Beverage team at Oracle Hospitality is continuing to advance the development of cloud technology solutions that help enhance the guest experience and streamline operations.
Improving Customer Productivity in the Back Office
The latest version of Oracle Hospitality Enterprise Back Office Suite was released in August. Now part of Oracle Cloud, the Enterprise Back Office Suite brings new functionality and greater speed and performance to Oracle Hospitality customers.
As part of the release, the user interface for each of the applications has been modernized with the latest Oracle Alta design system found in the most recent Oracle Fusion Solutions. Created by user-experience experts, Alta provides more journey-focused, simplified, mobile-enabled interfaces that provide fast access to data to improve productivity and business decision-making.
Alta has been applied to bring in a modern, fresh look in a consistent way across the Back Office Suite:
- Fewer elements and cleaner designs make the tools faster and easier to train.
- New icon system makes it easier to navigate.
- Thoughtful open space ensures that the data is clearly presented.
Oracle focused on the mobile web solutions found in the Reporting and Analytics, and Labor Management Employee Self-service solutions that are all included in the Simphony Cloud offering.
The Enterprise Back Office Suite includes Oracle Hospitality Reporting and Analytics, Oracle Hospitality Gift and Loyalty, Oracle Hospitality Labor Management, Oracle Hospitality Inventory Management and Oracle MICROS InMotion Mobile.
Helping Customers to Control Costs
Oracle Hospitality remains committed to helping food and beverage operators control operating costs and maximize profitability. Cost Control in Food and Beverage, a report that looks at how 200 restaurant operators in the United States are managing loss prevention and labor and inventory costs, was released by Oracle in July. The key findings showed that over-portioning and waste are the two areas of greatest loss for restaurant owners. The report can be downloaded here: http://ora.cl/Pi7F.
Hardware Tailored for Hospitality
Oracle Hospitality customers are also benefitting from a continued focus on hardware and software that are engineered to work together. The Workstation 6 family has been extended, with the release of the 620 and 650 models combined with Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. These new terminals combine the same sleek, modern look with a broad range of processor and memory capabilities, providing the latest technology to meet superior staff and guest expectations across a variety of operations.
