MICROS Systems’ fully integrated enterprise solutions are leading the way with features and components that address the most in-demand technology trends in the industry. This edition MICROS is concentrating on MICROS Business Intelligence, webHotel, MCP and OPERA Mobile.

OPERA Business Intelligence has a brand new look with many more graphical features and charting options. Under the hood, this state-of-the-art product went through some major improvements with a streamlined engine from Oracle, optimized OLAP cube aggregation and great looking OBIEE UI as a WebLogic Server family component.

New features such as SmartView are making the new MICROS OBI more appealing and useful for hoteliers, who can now create reports and dashboards in Microsoft Office products and store them back in OBI, and vice versa.

As always, OPERA Business Intelligence is more than just a reporting tool, it is what MICROS considers the business mirror. It shows hotel executives as well as all other users true pictures of their business across continents in seconds – one dashboard can make a big difference in decision making.

This new change for OBI is just a part of MICROS’ continuing approach to incorporate customer feedback while staying ahead of hospitality demands and technology trends. Next steps include taking business intelligence (BI) to the cloud (cost gaining for customer) and enhancing BI to further enrich its clients’ decision-making tools basket.

The MICROS Commerce Platform (MCP) is an ever-evolving e-commerce product and services platform leveraging OPERA-based hotel and customer data to attract, persuade and convert travel customers. MCP provides a truly integrated multiplatform experience to drive revenue and increase a brand’s competitive value in the online space. With MCP, hospitality organizations can now embrace the omni-channel marketing capabilities that have long been available to their retail counterparts.

webHotel for MCP addresses every phase of the Web shopping experience, from initial travel research to booking, and even provides pre and post-stay emails.  webHotel for MCP seamlessly integrates with MICROS premise and central systems to provide a single experience where guests can learn, book and manage their travel needs. Additionally, webHotel for MCP can interface with MICROS point-of-sale (POS) systems to allow guests the opportunity to make dinner reservations or order in-room dining, all from a single Web portal. The platform features self-service marketing, design, content management, personalized/targeted promotions, booking/reservations functionality, email communication, social media integration and detailed reporting capabilities.

OPERA MOBILE provides a wireless extension of hotel operations from the front desk workstation to mobile devices. Essential functionality at the user’s fingertips, including the Heartbeat, OPERA MOBILE is ideal for general managers and/or duty managers, and provides a survey of all movements for the current date, including arrival, departures and housekeeping statuses. Device and browser agnostic, OPERA MOBILE includes rich functionality and a user interface designed for a broader spectrum of smartphones and devices.
