OPERA Enterprise Solution
MICROS-Fidelio is pleased to introduce OPERA V5, the latest release of its fully integrated enterprise solution. OPERA V5 includes new features and components that significantly expand the dimensions of this popular suite of hospitality software applications.
The new OPERA Business Intelligence Suite (OBI) provides data analysis and decision support using information collected from multiple OPERA applications and properties. OBI is completely integrated with other OPERA applications, eliminating hardware and interface challenges. OBI includes pre-built templates for over a hundred useful reports, and can be deployed in a fraction of the time required by most other BI implementations.
Also new in OPERA V5, the OPERA Revenue Management System (ORMS) is a fully integrated yield management component for OPERA PMS and the OPERA Reservation System (ORS). ORMS provides modeling, forecasting and revenue optimization from an easy-to-use front end. ORMS draws forecast metrics from OPERA’s full statistical knowledgebase. Demand forecasts are based on real-time reservation activity, and adjustment to hurdles is instantaneous.
The OPERA Central Reservations System (ORS) introduces GDS total pricing, a detailed breakdown of the charges (e.g., taxes, fees, surcharges) that apply to rates returned from OPERA. Many convenience features have been added to the ORS sales screen, and virtual suite functionality is now available with room inventory viewed and maintained in both PMS and ORS.
OCIS, OPERA’s central customer information system, offers new functionality to simplify reissuing lost or stolen membership cards. Guests may now use membership award points to purchase frequent flyer points. Profile auto-merge has been expanded to allow merging of inactive profiles with both inactive and active profiles.
In V5, OPERA PMS features a new streamlined dashboard option that offers an intuitively designed base of operations for virtually all routine PMS activities. The dashboard is backed by easy-to-use administrative functionality. Among a host of other V5 enhancements, OPMS boasts an expanded menu of new rate handling features including BAR and BAR-based rates as well as promotional rates. OVOS, the OPERA Vacation Ownership System, works with OPMS to provide specialized functionality for mixed-use condo/hotel properties. With V5, OVOS offers apartment style billing on a weekly or monthly basis, in advance.
New OPERA Sales & Catering features include support for wholesaler blocks and sell limits for group bookings. SFA, the salesforce automation application, now allows hotels to bid rates on leads they receive. A central function diary supports sharing of event and function space information between SFA, S&C and PMS systems. And both SFA and S&C now offer the ability to specify alternate dates for group bookings and booking leads.
The OPERA suite is enhanced and supported by the OPERA Electronic Distribution Systems, which include channel management features for GDS, ADS and Web channels; OPERA Web Services, which provide real-time access to OPERA inventory, profiles and memberships data to online clientele; OPERA Interfaces, which integrate OPERA with phone, POS, and other hotel systems; and the OPERA Xchange Interface (OXI), which links third-party software and OPERA.
