What are some of your responsibilities?
I am responsible for all corporate- and hotel-related technology. Basically, if it plugs in, its mine. The technology group is responsible for over 150 above corporate-related users and over 140 managed hotels.

What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy developing new solutions for our operations team and working on new technology projects in new developments/projects. Overall, making end-users' lives easier, more efficient and cost effective through technology.

What do you like least about your job?
Vendors/sales people that have the best mouse trap.

Where did you go to school? What was your major?
Indiana University. I have a BS in accounting and a Masters degree from the Bobby Knight School of Stress Management.

What is your favorite movie?
Breakfast Club

What is your favorite song?
"Release Me" by Pearl Jam

What is your favorite line from a movie or song?
John Bender to Mr. Vernon in the Breakfast Club: “Yeah, I've got a question. Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe?”

What was your first job?
I was a paperboy in Merrillville, Ind.; I might have been 10 years old. My first hospitality job was as a busboy at Stones-Bones restaurant at age 15.

What was your most interesting day at work?
When we were first installing our ERP system 10+ years ago, I was working with a support agent trying to fix a database issue. As the support agent was having me type an admin command, he paused, so I hit enter. Oops, I truncated the entire database! The good news was that we had a solid disaster recover procedure we were forced to test.

What would you do if you won the lottery?
1) Long weekend bender in Vegas.
2) Replenish my 401K losses.

When you are not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters. We love spending summer weekends at our cottage boating. I enjoy cycling and running, and enjoy competing in triathlons to relieve the stresses of the work weeks.

What is the next technology to impact the hospitality industry?
Convergence of systems. Hopefully some LAN service provider emerges that can solve all our on-property technology challenges for an aggressive support pricing model.
