Scott Greenberg

Director – OnQ™ Global Deployment
Hilton Hotels Corporation

What are some of your responsibilities?
I am responsible for leading a team of technical and business professionals to deploy a state-of-the-art, integrated, strategic technology platform that delivers enhanced customer service and operational efficiencies to 2,100+ hotels in six brands.

What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy the daily challenges associated with working in a fast-paced and ever-changing profession. The many fun, interesting and talented people that I get to work with, both within our organization and throughout our industry, also make my job enjoyable.

What do you like least about your job?
The point in the budget process where we discover that we may not be able to fund all the great initiatives we want to pursue.

Did you go to undergraduate school? Where? What was your major?
I attended The College of William & Mary in Virginia and graduated with a B.B.A. in Marketing. I also started my career in hospitality working for two hotel management companies in Williamsburg while attending school.

What is your favorite movie?
“Monty Python and the Holy Grail” Back in college my roommates and I could recite most of the lines.

What is your favorite song?
I am a fan of so many types of music that it is hard to choose. I have to say my favorite is “Just Like Heaven” by The Cure. The orchestration is very powerful.

What is your favorite line from a movie or song?
“Roll with the punches. Tomorrow is another day.” (Dicky Fox in “Jerry Maguire”)

What was your first job?
I was a Page in the Virginia General Assembly at age 14. It was an interesting way to learn about politics and law at an early age.

What was your most interesting day at work?
The day we heard about Hilton’s acquisition of Promus Hotels, Inc. was very interesting. This was my first exposure to a corporate merger. On day one there were a lot of questions to ponder, but you could see the potential to build a great new organization from two strong companies.

What would you do if you won the lottery?
I might be able to afford a small house in the San Francisco Bay Area! And I would still want to be involved in the hospitality industry in some way. Visiting the great resorts and golf courses of the world might fit that bill.

When you are not working what do you enjoy doing?
My wife and I love to travel. We are also big sports fans who enjoy following our teams, the San Francisco 49ers and Memphis Grizzlies.

What is the next technology to impact the hospitality industry?
I think Web-based check-in will be a major emphasis for many organizations in our industry. Allowing our customers more accessibility and control in their transactions is a growing requirement.
