Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) and Capital Factory have teamed up to debut the latest installment of HFTP's 20X series, Entrepreneur 20X (E20X).

The program will be a part of the 2015 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), June 15–18 in Austin, Texas. E20X will gather innovative startups to pitch cutting-edge, transformative hospitality technology to an audience of venture capitalists, angel investors, serial entrepreneurs and HITEC attendees. In addition, top pitch participants will receive kiosk display space within the HITEC exhibit hall.

“I cannot express how excited HFTP is to be debuting Entrepreneur 20X at HITEC 2015,” said Frank Wolfe, CAE, HFTP CEO. “Many of the world’s greatest technologies have been created as startups and there is no better place to debut transformative hospitality technology than at HITEC 2015 where many of the top industry providers introduce their newest technologies.”

HITEC attendees will have the opportunity to watch the start-up pitch competition in real time alongside potential investors. Many of the startups are entrepreneurs mentored by Capital Factory, a center for entrepreneurs, as part of their accelerator program.  The winning startup, determined by an expert panel of judges with backgrounds in hospitality, technology and entrepreneurship will receive a cash prize and a coveted HITEC Tech Talk speaking opportunity. Top presenters will be selected to join other start-up companies in the E20X Kiosk Pavilion located in the HITEC exhibit hall.
Earlier this year, a start-up competition was held at the Travel & Technology Conference, hosted by Hospitality Upgrade, managed by Somers Communications. The top startups from that event will also be featured in the pavilion. The pavilion will be open June 16–18 to provide end users, developers, investors and dreamers the opportunity to come face-to-face with these winning technologies.

“HFTP represents all facets of hospitality including clubs, restaurants, spas, hotels and casinos,” said Daniel Conti Jr., CAM, CHAE, 2014–15 HFTP global president and director of finance for Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place. “The idea of E20X has been discussed for more than two years because it’s our belief that all of these segments need exposure to tomorrow’s technology — today.”
