HX Announces List of Speakers and Topics

Keeping pace with its spirit of reinvention, HX: The Hotel Experience — Rooms to Restaurants, debuts a totally refreshed educational strategy for Nov. 8-10, 2015, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City including a dynamic list of topics and speakers.

“Wanting experiential, exciting, enviable education throughout the show drove the completely reimagined HX tradeshow floor as well as our list of powerful talent and ideas,” said Anthony G. Mangano, president of Syramada Hotel Corporation (Syracuse, N.Y.) and chairman of the board for HX 2015. “These kinds of learning opportunities really don’t exist anywhere else in our industry.”

Examples of what is on the list for HX 2015 educational programming include:

Hotel:

  • Peter Yesawich, vice chairman of MMGY Global, will share research and insights on habits and preferences of today’s travelers and the implications to hotels and foodservice.
  • Dr. Erich Joachimsthaler, CEO and founder, Vivaldi Partners Group will provide a provocative presentation on “staying ahead of the disruptors” – addressing the new normal of shared economy concepts such as Airbnb and Uber.
  • Glenn Hasek, publisher and editor of Green Lodging News will engage industry experts in a strategic exchange of “What’s Driving Lodging’s Leading Companies to Invest in Sustainability” – a must attend for C-level hospitality executives.
  • Larry Sternberg, president of Talent Plus will address Tomorrow’s Workforce – Importance of Human Capital and the demand for the right talent.

Restaurant:

  • Top three winners of the HX 2015 Foodservice Pioneering Concept – Ed Arons, senior associate, Colburn & Guyette , Robert Simmons, principal, Bruner Cott, Steve Cote, president, Café Bellas and Audrey N. Teleguz, principal, SCOPOS Hospitality Group – to discuss their approach to design and concept development in terms of sustainability, location, menu and more.  Sponsored by Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI).
  • Dave Turner, publisher, TabletopJournal, moderates a dynamic panel of industry experts including Ed Brown, senior vice president, Restaurant Associates, Tommaso  Cardana, Tomson Hospitality, Martin Hunt, designer, Queensberry Hunt, and John Miles, president, Steelite Americas. Technology: (New for 2015)

  • Dahlia El Gazzar, CEO and founder of The Meeting Pool, will explore the most intriguing macro trends in hospitality.
  • HX Tech Team will lead hands-on training and show the how-tos of evaluating web presence, going paperless with a tablet and choosing new hardware and devices.
