Kaba has announced that its merger with DORMA is finalized.

The new company, dorma+kaba Group, with pro forma annual sales of more than CHF 2B ($2.1B) and more than 16,000 staff in 50 countries, is one of the top three firms in global access control. Kaba provides the Saflok™ and ILCO™ brands of electronic locks.

DORMA’s automatic doors and Crane revolving doors are in wide use throughout the hospitality industry, as are its architectural hardware and crash bar door systems. Further, DORMA’s Modernfold movable wall partitions and glass wall systems are ideal for hotel and flexible conference centers.

“One of the keys to success in the expanding worldwide marketplace is a strong global brand with international services to match. The new dorma+kaba Group clearly provides that,” said Stephen Pollack, vice president marketing, Kaba ADS America. “Kaba and DORMA are two of the best-known and valuable brands in their core markets. The companies share a commitment to develop secure, innovative access solutions for buildings of the future. Now they are a global company that will deliver enhanced, complementary products and services.”

Customers and partners of Kaba and DORMA will profit from a complementary product portfolio, geographical presence, value chain, and global service organization. The new company will provide a leading product and service offering from a single source, the dorma+kaba Group.

All Kaba RFID door locks shipped today are mobile-access iOS and Android compatible to give operators a flexible choice of guest entry options. Kaba mobile locks use a cloud-based mobile access system and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) to deliver a seamless, reliable, and highly secure guest experience. The flexibility of Kaba's mobile access solutions ensure that properties can meet travelers' emerging demand for greater mobile compatibility. Guests can check-in online with their mobile device, and use it during their stay as their very own mobile room key.
