NEC Corporation of America (NEC) announced that it achieved the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) of vendors serving the IP telephony market.

The significance of this resonates strongly with companies of varying sizes who are looking for ways to contain their IT and communication costs both now and in the future.

NEC’s TCO results, published in the Nemertes Research report, compared the total cost of ownership among top vendors in the marketplace.  NEC is recognized as providing the lowest first-year costs when factoring capital, implementation and operational costs. The report also noted that NEC had the lowest annual maintenance costs.

The report highlights the importance of fully understanding the many factors that impact the true cost of IP telephony (IPT) and UC investments. The Nemertes analysis shows that when considering all factors, costs vary widely among vendors. With numerous factors to consider, it’s imperative that organizations make sound decisions based on actual data.

“Enterprises typically purchase based on RFPs that only include capital costs and technical evaluations,” said Robin Gareiss, executive vice president and founder of Nemertes. “However, it’s critical implementation and operational costs cannot be ignored in the decision process.”

“NEC has deep experience helping organizations manage costs and plan effectively for future growth,” said Larry Levenberg, vice president of sales and marketing for NEC. “We are pleased to see that our quality solutions and support for our customers is recognized in this report.”

NEC offers a broad range of voice over IP and unified communications solutions, small to very large systems, that effectively support enterprise and SMB customers whose requirements span from premises-based solutions to cloud-based unified communications as a service, to custom hybrid private cloud communications solutions.
