Venza Group Provides Customized Role-Based Curriculum to Support Blue Mountain Resorts’ Compliance Efforts

The Venza Group has developed a customized, role-based curriculum to help Ontario-based Blue Mountain Resorts meet the Payment Card Industry’s PCI DSS requirements while increasing the security and safety of data across its various lodging options.

“The hospitality industry as a whole is uniquely vulnerable when it comes to data security issues,” said Daniel Johnson, COO of Venza Group. “Because Blue Mountain has a variety of lodging options across their property, they realized this could increase their susceptibility to breach, both through the physical infrastructure, like POS terminals, and through human error. This training is ensuring all employees have the skills and knowledge to protect their guests’ information.”

Blue Mountain employees have participated in three programs from the Venza Group’s PEAK® suite of interactive training solutions for hoteliers: Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance, Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Security Awareness & Privacy. The eLearning modules were customized to address Blue Mountain’s business and employee development objectives.

“While the Payment Card Industry’s Data Security Standards continue to evolve, we viewed this as an opportunity to be proactive about protecting our guests’ personal information,” said John Gowers of Blue Mountain Resorts. “We partnered with Venza because of their hospitality experience and learning design expertise as well as the fact that they could tailor the curriculum to meet our specific needs.”

Venza Group’s PEAK programs are customizable training modules developed specifically for the hospitality environment and designed to maximize application and retention. Modules introduce concepts in the hospitality industry setting, with eLearning programs specifically targeted for management, employees and IT.
