Digital Signage Expo (DSE), one of the world’s largest international trade shows and educational conferences dedicated to digital displays, interactive technology and digital communications networks, announced that while DSE 2018 did not set an all-time attendance record, it did deliver the highest buyer attendance percentage in its 15 show history, with 93.3 percent of total attendance comprised of end-users, system integrators and advertising/brand executives.
End-users alone accounted for nearly 45 percent of the audience, which was a higher percentage than 2017.
Verified attendance was 4,032 and was on par with DSE’s attendance performance over the past five years, with one exception, 2017. In 2017 the show was fortunate enough to have co-locations with three other events (GlobalShop, Cinamacon and Pizza Marketplace), which gave DSE a significant one-year attendance boost.
International attendees were 17.5 percent of the overall attendance, coming from 60 countries.
Show management is happy to report that DSE attendees from whom we’ve heard so far were pleased with their experience and felt their time at DSE to be worthwhile. Here’s a small sample of the feedback that we’ve received:
Angel Cordero, signage & kiosk solutions, Disney Parks & Resorts: “DSE is an essential part of our strategic success. Each year we use this time to connect with our screen, enclosure/mounts, and CMS vendors. We also love to the scan the back of the exhibit hall for next-generation R&D technologies. Finally, the seminars and training sessions keep us sharp on industry best practices.”
Frank Coccaro, executive director of multimedia, MGM Resorts International: “The exhibitors, the round table discussions, and speaker opportunities were impressive, and the knowledge that was shared was immeasurable. All the opportunities for learning from the many guest speakers, and seeing what the future offers in digital signage, was tremendous. DSE is a hub for technology, networking, education and creativity.”
