NEC Announces General Availability of UNIVERGE® Cloud Services UCaaS

NEC Corporation of America (NEC) announced the general availability of UNIVERGE Cloud Services UCaaS, a comprehensive suite of voice, data and video services that features a simple, web-based end-user client deployable across a multitude of devices, such as PCs, smartphones or tablets.

UNIVERGE Cloud Services UCaaS provides a wide array of user options to customers, including but not limited to, IP telephony, unified messaging, audio and video conferencing, Web collaboration, mobility, presence and IM, dual mode, and contact centers – all in a simple, service-based model designed to replace expensive capital costs with an affordable monthly fee. Backed by NEC’s history and strength in technology and global offerings, NEC’s UNIVERGE Cloud Services will continue to evolve as new services are added to the solution to meet customers’ communication needs.

NEC’s UCaaS solution was designed and built with NEC’s channel community and customer in mind to deliver a program that adds to the channel’s portfolio of solutions, while delivering a robust set of features and functionality to meet end-users’ communication needs. A channel portal specifically was built to help dealers manage their customers from one dashboard, providing a snapshot view of each account and an easy-to-use quoting tool that simplifies the process of providing quotes to end customers. Features are simply packaged – basic, standard and premium – with an array of additional features and service add-ons to create a UC solution that fits the customer needs.

“NEC has developed a distribution-friendly model for UCaaS that enable companies to address market changes more effectively,” said Gordon Maccani, CEO of Digital Telecommunications Corp. “It will help integrators evolve their businesses step-by-step from a traditional CPE business to the cloud’s recurring-revenue model.”

“The UNIVERGE Cloud Services offering leverages the best that NEC has to offer from the high-performance infrastructure at its core, the feature-rich UC software platform to the service delivery and options available through our dealer network or directly from NEC’s enterprise sales organization,” said Jay Krauser, director of cloud services, NEC. “The combination of our trusted technology and network of dealers will ensure this solution is simple to purchase, deploy and manage. It’s flexibility and scalability with no hidden fees.”

NEC recently completed a successful nationwide 10-city rollout to deliver the NEC UNIVERGE Cloud Services UCaaS message to all their dealers and consultants. A webinar is scheduled for March 12, 2013, for dealers who were unable to attend the in-person sessions.
