Shift4 Payments, the leader in secure payment processing solutions, today announced that their new RESTful application program interface (API) is available to their existing integration partners and for all new integrations.
With the introduction of Shift4's new REST API option, independent software providers (ISVs) can now integrate their point of sale or property management systems much faster to Shift4's payment gateway and network, which include a suite of secure payment technologies that support a wide range of payment types, devices, functions, and back-office accounting capabilities.
RESTful APIs — which utilize the flexible and widely used JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) data format — are particularly useful in cloud applications and will bring advanced data management capabilities that software developers can include in their Shift4 integrations. ISVs who are already integrated with Shift4 will receive continued support, but have the option to upgrade their integration to the RESTful API.
