The Hermitage Hotel, the only Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five Diamond-rated hotel in the state of Tennessee, has chosen OpenKey as its preferred vendor in providing guests the ability to easily access their room directly from their mobile device.

OpenKey is a universal standard for mobile key access in the hotel industry.

Implementing OpenKey will also allow Hermitage guests the ability to check in to their room prior to arrival, call the front desk, confirm their identity with an ID capture for security and send their estimated time of arrival (ETA) to the hotel via the app. Guests are also able to take advantage of amenities offered by the hotel through the mobile app.

"The Hermitage Hotel has been an integral part of Nashville for over one hundred years; when you walk through the halls you are taken back to another time when Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline roamed these same hallways," said Dee Patel, general manager at The Hermitage Hotel. "Our goal is to give guests a rich historical experience while enjoying the latest benefits that technology can provide to make their stay more convenient and rewarding.  Partnering with OpenKey to provide our guests the benefits of mobile key was an easy choice for us – we're excited to offer technology that improves the guest experience."

"We are honored to be working with such a renowned hotel like The Hermitage," said Brian Shedd, vice president of sales and marketing at OpenKey. "The hotel's historic past is incredible, but they also recognize the need to provide a modern stay experience. They understand guests want the ability to skip the check-in line and go straight to their rooms. The OpenKey app allows guests to do just that and spend more time enjoying the sights and sounds of amazing Nashville."

The distinctive architecture and Beaux-Arts style of The Hermitage Hotel offers an old-world blend of classical Italian and French Renaissance features. Since opening in 1910, the hotel has been host to several presidents including Woodrow Wilson and John Kennedy, along with world famous athletes and actors including Babe Ruth and Charlie Chaplin. Ranked one of the Top 50 Hotels in the U.S. by U.S. News and World Report and a Top 500 Hotels in the World by Travel and Leisure. The Music City hotel is within walking distance from the Nashville Convention Center, the financial district and historic 2nd Avenue. It's iconic phrase "Meet me at The Hermitage Hotel" evokes a timeless sense of quality and glamour that's makes it a tourist attraction in its own right.
