The Venza Group is working with Davidson Hotels & Resorts to support the company’s efforts to protect data security at its portfolio of 35+ properties throughout the United States.

The Atlanta-based hospitality management company is implementing the Venza PEAK® Compliance program to develop the skills, knowledge and processes to minimize risk for the hotels and safeguard the payment card and personal information of their guests, employees and executives.

“Davidson Hotels & Resorts is showing how seriously they take their responsibility to their staff and their guests,” said Daniel Johnson, Venza Group’s COO. “Through their implementation of the PEAK® Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance programs and Protecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII) curriculum, they’ve taken a robust, proactive approach to addressing this critical issue.”

With 55 percent of all credit card fraud occurring in the hospitality industry, and 38 percent of all breaches happening in hotels, data security has become a key priority for hoteliers. Hotels are responsible for providing training and awareness to management, employees and IT to ensure that appropriate steps are taken and legal requirements are met.

“We consider this training to be a core component of our mission to deliver hospitality and create value for every customer, every time,” said Ron Hardin, vice president of technology, Davidson Hotels & Resorts. “And the fact that these programs are not only legally compliant but also designed specifically for the hospitality industry and approved by HFTP makes them instantly credible, relevant and applicable.”

The Venza Group developed the PEAK® Compliance program in partnership with the law firm of Arnall Golden Gregory (AGG) and HeR Consulting specifically for the hospitality industry. The series of eLearning modules is available off the shelf and can be customized for branding and integration.
