Zucchetti Acquires Omnibees to Build a Global Hospitality Technology Powerhouse
Zucchetti – the Italian multinational organization specializing in management systems for industries including retail, manufacturing, and human resources – has taken a significant step toward expanding its global hospitality technology platform by acquiring a controlling interest in Grupo Hive. The group's brands include Infotera, HSystem, Bee2Pay, Niara and Omnibees, a technology and distribution platform for the hotel industry with a strong presence across Latin America. The transaction value has not been disclosed, and the deal is subject to approval by Brazil's antitrust authority, CADE (Administrative Council for Economic Defense).
The strategic value of the acquisition lies in the complementary geographic strengths of the two companies. Zucchetti has already established a strong presence in the hospitality sector in Europe and North America, serving 44,000+ hotel clients, 48,500+ catering clients, and 1,500+ wellness facilities, including spas, fitness centers, and wellness clubs; however, until now, the company has had a limited presence in Latin America. Omnibees fills that gap by providing a platform that connects more than 10,000 hotels to regional online sales channels and a network of over 750 distribution partners. With operations in Brazil, Portugal, Colombia and Mexico, Omnibees serves both independent properties and major hotel groups.
With the acquisition, Zucchetti expands its presence on both sides of the Atlantic, offering hotels a fully integrated technology ecosystem that combines property management, distribution, reservations, payments, business intelligence, and direct sales in a single platform. The goal is to eliminate the technology fragmentation that continues to define much of the hotel industry's operations, delivering a platform capable of supporting everything from digital check-in to financial management and performance analytics.
"Zucchetti has spent decades building one of the strongest positions in hospitality technology in Europe and North America. What we were missing was an equally strong presence in Latin America, one with local DNA and proven distribution at scale,” said Alessio Mainardi, CEO of Zucchetti Brazil and head of Zucchetti's Latin American operations. “Omnibees provides exactly that. The combination puts us in a unique position: global scale, with deep knowledge of each market we operate in. We are not simply entering the Latin American market; we are joining forces with an operation that is already trusted by more than 10,000 hotels."
A single hotel ecosystem to manage their entire operations
Zucchetti's hospitality portfolio already provides a comprehensive suite of solutions, including digital concierge, online check-in, Central Reservation System (CRS), Revenue Management Systems (RMS), digital marketing and automation, ERP, Property Management System (PMS), Food & Beverage, and wellness solutions. With the addition of Grupo Hive, significant synergies open for growth and innovation by combining complementary solutions and proven regional knowledge and expertise.
The move responds to real market pressure. Brazil's hospitality sector generates over $180 billion USD yet operates largely on disconnected technology platforms, creating operational inefficiencies and gaps in performance visibility.
"The hospitality industry has always struggled with a proliferation of systems that do not talk to each other,” said Carlos Sarquis, CEO of Omnibees. “A hotel runs one PMS, a separate system for distribution, another for payments, another for data, and the team loses time and revenue manually bridging the gaps. What we have built together is a direct answer to that problem: a platform where these pieces connect natively, with data intelligence flowing across the entire operation. For hoteliers, that means less friction, more visibility, and better decisions, faster.”
Growth through acquisitions & market localization
Founded in Italy more than 45 years ago, Zucchetti is already present in over 50 countries and serves more than 750,000 clients worldwide. Operating for 15 years in Brazil and serving more than 120,000 clients and 4,000 partners, the company's growth strategy is strongly anchored in mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to the Grupo Hive acquisition, Zucchetti had acquired nine Brazilian businesses across retail, ERP, human resources, and digital signatures. Recent acquisitions include 4Sign, Elofy, Compufour, Smallsoft, Gdoor and AppBarber. The Grupo Hive acquisition marks the launch of a new vertical in hospitality in Brazil and Latin America, and significantly expands the group's capacity for product development, artificial intelligence, and global expansion in the sector.
A central element of Zucchetti's strategy in Brazil is market localization: the ability to adapt its products and business models to meet the specific requirements of the Brazilian and Latin American markets. The process works in both directions; technologies and operating models developed in Brazil have been successfully transferred back to Europe. With the addition of Grupo Hive, this successful exchange is expected to deepen exponentially across the hospitality vertical.
