The 15th annual Executive Vendor Summit will be held February 26-March 1, 2019 in Austin, Texas

Hospitality Upgrade's Executive Vendor Summit presents thoughtful discussion topics, quality speakers, and a relaxed networking environment. Whether informally comparing notes during the Golf Scramble, or debating with peers during a session, the interactive environment has encouraged countless vendors to walk away with partnerships and occasionally a merger or acquisition.

Why do past attendees mark this as a must-attend event? Quite simply—it's the focus on peer-to-peer interaction. In an industry based on competition as much as partnerships, the Summit offers vendor executives a rare combination of networking, social events and program in a relaxed atmosphere. At other conferences and tradeshows, vendors are focused on selling products and services. At the Executive Vendor Summit, there are no customers and no selling. By taking the customer out of this event, attendees form critical relationships with peers and focus on the industry's successes, challenges and opportunities and how to provide better solutions.

This year's program is being finalized with many of the popular sessions of the past will be included and updated to reflect on the changes we are all experiencing today. This year Michael Levie the CEO of citizenM will speak on Blue Ocean Strategy – the business theory about creating new market space and making the competition irrelevant.  Also back by popular demand will be the CIO panel where a multitude of tech leaders from hotel companies will share where their technology focus and investment will be this year. The program will be finalized very soon as final schedules are being confirmed. We especially want to thank our Advisory Board for sharing their thoughts once again on this year’s program.

“I look forward to the HU's EVS every year because it provides a unique way for vendors to collaborate and strategize without the distractions of our day-to-day routines. Where we may typically find ourselves competing for the same client, this event focuses more on the industry, where we are now and what we see for the future. This is a forum where we can openly discuss our challenges and celebrate our ‘wins’ in a relaxed, fun environment."

Overview

Questions & Answers

Question: ATTENDANCE AND REGISTRATION: Who can come?
Answer:
The Executive Vendor Summit is an invitation-only event. To receive an invitation, you must hold the title of president or similar C-level executive position (CEO, chairman, owner, founder) at a technology company actively involved in the hospitality industry that is also a current customer of Hospitality Upgrade magazine. ** If you received an invitation and you cannot attend, you CAN'T send anyone else. Our invitation list includes the who's who of the industry. And although we want the Summit to grow, we will never compromise quality for quantity. Unprecedented peer-to-peer networking has proven to be an integral part of the conference.

Attendance is limited to one attendee per company. If you haven’t received an invitation and are interested in qualifying to attend, e-mail Anne Boon at anne@hospitalityupgrade.com

Question: ATTENDANCE AND REGISTRATION: How much does it cost?
Answer:

The Summit was created as a thank you for Hospitality Upgrade customers--Hospitality Upgrade does not profit from this event. Attendees are charged a shared cost at the time of registration. The $698 registration fee includes the program, all meals, drinks and the Wednesday evening special event. Attendees are also responsible for air travel, the Bee Cave Sonesta room rate $159+/night, and the pre-conference.

Question: ATTENDANCE AND REGISTRATION. Is there a spouse program?
Answer: Yes! If you are bringing a spouse/significant other to the 2019 Executive Vendor Summit, please register him/her for the events he/she will be attending. Spouses/significant others can register to attend Tuesday's pre-conference dinner free of charge. They can also attend the cocktail and dinner events on Wednesday and Thursday for a fee equal to our cost ($250). We will also include your spouse/significant other in the complimentary shuttle back to the airport on Friday, March 1, if desired.

Question: ATTENDANCE AND REGISTRATION. What is the cancellation policy?
Answer:
Housing Cancellations. Cancellations for room reservations received more than 48 hours in advance of arrival date will be without penalty. Cancellations for room reservations received less than 48 hours prior to arrival date will be charged one night room and tax. An early departure fee of one night room and tax will apply for attendees checking out prior to the confirmed checkout date.

Attendance Cancellations. Cancellations for conference attendance received by Friday, February 16, 2019 will be without penalty; registrants will receive a full refund for the $698 conference fee. Cancellations received after February 16 but before February 21, 2019 will incur a penalty of 50% or $349. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after February 21, 2019. Please notify Siegel Communications in writing of a cancellation ASAP so we can plan accordingly. Not only do we make commitments to vendors on your behalf, but also our meals and events are assigned seating and arrangements must be made for your absence. E-mail: anne@hospitalityupgrade.com

Question: DRESS. What is the conference dress?
Answer:

We've decided sport coats and button downs are overrated. Dress for the entire conference is casual. In other words, if you want to wear jeans on Wednesday then go for it! Average February/March weather in Austin is a high of 75 degrees and a low of 55 degrees.

Question: SOCIAL ACTIVITIES: Will there be plenty of opportunities to network?
Answer: The Summit offers a rare combination of networking, social events and program. Attendees are free to form critical relationships with their peers in a relaxed environment. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet your peers whether it is at the sit-down dinners (where we specifically circulate you to have an opportunity to sit with all attendees), in the interactive sessions, at the cocktail receptions, during the icebreakers and networking activities. Seating is assigned at each of our events to encourage interaction.

Question: SPONSORSHIPS: Just how many sponsors are we talking about?
Answer:

The Executive Vendor Summit is not a commercial endeavor, but a high level meeting for presidents and C-levels from around the world. There will be very limited sponsorships available. We do not allow any formal sponsor presentations, but we will allow the sponsors to briefly welcome the attendees to the Summit and join us at conference events and functions. Again, this will not be a sales conference, but a closed-door conference for attendees to discuss the issues at hand without interruption or unsolicited information.

Question: ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS or assistance needed?

Creating Blue Oceans – How to Set Your Business Apart From the Competition - Colony C

In a faster and ever-growing marketplace, examine the possibilities how our very own business can stand out and prosper ahead of our competition. In 2005 Dr. Chan Kim and Dr. Renee Mauborgne introduced us to "Blue Ocean Strategy, creating uncontested market space and make the competition irrelevant." Pursuing differentiation and lowering cost stand at the center, but how to achieve that given our own day-to-day tasks. This session will discuss what are the necessary tools we need, how do we go about creating our own blue oceans, who can we use as examples or modeling tools and what does success look like. Learn about company culture and DNA rather than a step by step process and on how to get motivated for achievement.
