This column takes a look at a property and what technologies are in use.

Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort, is a 2,000-acre resort on Hilton Head Island, S.C., featuring three championship golf courses, a world-class tennis facility, a variety of homes and villas, three miles of private beach, an inland lagoon system, bike trails and a harbour/marina area with several shops and restaurants. Two of the property's most valuable technologies in place are Active Golf and Yield Management, which enables staff to manage its golf services, the highest volume business segment on property, and NetVupoint, its executive management oversight tool for POS outlets. As Bret Martin, vice president of resort operations, said, "It allows us to get up-to-the-minute feedback on each of our business segments. We can instantaneously retrieve data with the simple user interface that this tool provides, backed by integrated technology."

And what is the property’s next big technology upgrade? Updating its CRM tool to Libra OnDemand.
