Treadwell Mansion has selected Mews, the operating system for hospitality, as its property management system to power the launch of a front-desk-free boutique apartment-hotel in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Set in a restored Georgian building dating back more than 250 years, Treadwell Mansion reimagines a historic landmark as a modern, tech-enabled stay. The property features 38 spacious apartment-style units with full kitchens, designed to offer guests the flexibility of a home with the consistency of a hotel.

As a first-time hospitality venture, the Treadwell team built its entire operating model from the ground up – from payments and pricing to guest communications and accounting. Mews was selected for its flexibility, open ecosystem, and ability to support a fully digital, cashless guest journey.

“For us, it was about creating a modern hospitality experience from day one,” said Liam Annis, General Manager of Treadwell Mansion. “Mews gave us the flexibility to design exactly how we wanted the guest journey to work, from booking and check-in to everything happening behind the scenes. It’s been intuitive, efficient, and easy to scale.”

With Mews at the core of operations, Treadwell Mansion runs without a traditional front desk. Guests complete registration and payment before arrival, receive secure digital access codes, and manage their stay entirely online, creating a seamless self-service experience.

Behind the scenes, Mews connects a fully integrated technology ecosystem spanning distribution, accounting, guest messaging, and access control, enabling a lean team to operate the property efficiently from a single platform.

“Treadwell is a powerful example of what happens when hospitality is designed without legacy constraints,” said Michael Coscetta, President of Mews. “They’ve taken a 250-year-old landmark and created a fully digital, cashless operation run by a lean team on a single platform. That’s exactly the kind of modern hospitality experience Mews is built to power.”

Treadwell Mansion will officially celebrate its grand opening on Friday, May 15, marking the next chapter for the historic Portsmouth landmark as a modern, tech-enabled hospitality experience.

Mews is an operating system for hospitality, unifying workflows across revenue, operations and the guest journey so teams can automate the mundane and focus on memorable guest experiences. The Mews platform spans PMS, POS, RMS, Housekeeping and Payments, helping hoteliers move from property management to profit management. Powering 15,000 customers across 85 countries, the company was named Best PMS (2024, 2025, 2026), Best POS (2026) and listed among the Best Places to Work in Hotel Tech for six years running by Hotel Tech Report.
