It’s amazing to think that just a few years ago, AI was barely on our radar, and now it’s making a real difference in how we do business, keep our data safe and take care of our guests. As your publisher, I’m excited to share how HFTP is stepping up to help guide these changes and make sure our community stays ahead of the curve.
I’m especially proud to announce the creation of the HFTP Hospitality AI Committee. This committee, chaired by Michael Goldrich and Shannon McCallum, brings together experts and representatives from all corners of hospitality.
Their mission is simple: help us all make sense of how AI fits into our world, offer real guidance and shine a light on what these new tools really mean for our industry. We know that AI offers us huge potential, but it also raises quite a few questions. That’s exactly why this committee isn’t here to watch from the sidelines. They’re going to dive right in—creating learning events, sharing research you can actually use and working with industry leaders to lay out clear guidelines for how we should all be using AI. The goal: as our industry gets smarter, we want to make sure we’re doing things the right way—safely, ethically and with real impact.
To start off our work in AI education, the HFTP Academy is launching the new Hospitality AI microcredential.
Having the right tools is one thing but knowing how to use them is what sets us apart. That’s why we’ve put together this new microcredential—to give you practical skills and insights you can actually use in your day-to-day work.
Whether you’re handling finances, tech or anything in between, this course is here to help you build confidence and move your team forward as the industry keeps evolving.
The future of hospitality is bright, full of new ideas and opportunities to learn. I hope you’ll keep an eye on the committee’s projects and maybe even take a closer look at the Hospitality AI microcredential for yourself or your team. Let’s keep moving forward together—one step at a time.
Sincerely,
Frank Wolfe, CAE
